Epsilon Sigma Omicron
Chair - Joy Sullivan
Epsilon Sigma Omicron (ESO) is an
honorary reading society formed as part of the General Federation of
Women's Clubs Education Program. It is to provide an opportunity for
self-enrichment and lifelong learning to members as they participate, at
their own pace, in the society's reading program.
All ESO Reading Levels require the reader to write a brief review of 50
words or less for each book read. Currently there are four levels:
Membership, a total of 16 books (four books from four different
categories; Star, 40 books from ten different categories; Torch, 75
books from seven categories; and finally Century, 100 books of free
choice or ESO books. A Reading List is prepared by GFWC which lists
acceptable books for each category, and there are 23 categories.
The TVWC group only meets formally once or twice a year, with readers
giving reviews to the chairman to be processed as they finish a level.
