TVWC HOSTS SUCCESSFUL CONFERENCE

 FOR NINETEEN WOMEN’S CLUBS  

The Temecula Valley Woman’s Club hosted the De Anza District Conference and luncheon on January 17, 2011 at the Temeku Hills Golf Club. Over one hundred women were welcomed by TVWC’s 2011 president, Nancy Alcorn, followed by a welcome to the city of Temecula, from councilwoman, Maryann Edwards. The presentation of colors was performed by Boy Scout Troop 148, including seven boys, ranging from eleven to fifteen years old, from Temecula and Murrieta schools. “FOOD FOR FRIENDS,” a program to help feed the hungry in the Temecula Valley, is the TVWC’s Helping Hands in the Community project. TVWC asked members of the district’s nineteen women’s clubs to aid this worthy cause by bringing two non-perishable food items or a monetary contribution for donation to the local food bank.

After the conclusion of the district’s business meeting, all eyes were upon the guest motivational speaker, Robbie Motter, a marketing and public relations consultant to corporate America. She presented a riveting strategic guide on how to increase membership within women’s clubs. She currently serves as a consultant for the Resource Center for Non-Profit Management in Riverside, working with non-profit directors on marketing, public relations and social media memberships with a focus on increasing their volunteer base. For the past thirty years, the TVWC has been supporting the community, donating more than $1.5 million and volunteering over 910,000 service hours.
