In
1985, TVWC established the Holiday Home Tour to raise funds for Temecula Valley
High School. The tradition continues. Our 20th year, 2005, we
donated over $ 16,000 from Home Tour funds to scholarships for graduating
students from Temecula Valley High School, Chaparral High School, Murrieta
Valley High School, and Vista Murrieta High School. In 1999 we established a
permanent scholarship fund with the Mt. San Jacinto College foundations to
provide an annual scholarship to a local deserving female seeking to enhance her
skills in order to enter/re-enter the workforce.
Each year our May meeting
revolves around our scholarship students. These amazingly talented young
people along with their parents/ guardians and counselors join us for our
luncheon meeting and talk a little about themselves and their goals. Most
members feel this is the highlight of the TVWC year.
Scholarships are always our top of our priority and with the ever expanding
growth in our communities comes the opening of new high schools. Our club
recognizes the need for additional scholarship funds to keep up with this
growth and we are actively pursuing new sources of funding.
