Who We Are
Our Mission Statement:
To inspire and develop our community of youth to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation.
The goal of the Temecula Valley Woman's Club HOBY committee is to work with the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership organization and the local high schools to create opportunities for students for development of leadership skills and to introduce them to volunteerism. Founded in 1958, HOBY’s mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation.
What We Do
The Temecula Valley Woman's Club HOBY Committee works with local high schools in selecting one outstanding sophomore from each school to attend a three day HOBY Leadership Seminar. Our club is proud to sponsor these sophomores by funding their tuition to the seminar.
In return, we ask each student to attend our September meeting and share their HOBY experience along with their plans to implement their newly acquired leadership skills at their schools.
It's that time of the year again and TVWC is proud to announce that we have all six high schools registered to attend HOBY Southern California Conference this coming June at Chapman College. Hopefully, one of our representatives who we sponsor will be chosen to attend the International Conference and TVWC will be able to assist her or him as we did last year.
HOBY Southern California is in the planning stages for a program called “CLEW.” This is a one–day program for high school freshman organized and presented by past HOBY participants. As a sponsoring organization, TVWC will be able to participate.
The format is similar to the annual HOBY Southern California summer session. Now that GFWC Federation has chosen HOBY as an education partnership, TVWC hopes to increase Club participation and have a sign-up sheet next January! It has been such a pleasure to see how the program has grown in the last few years. Hugh O'Brian must be very proud! And Wyatt Earp!
What We Support
Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) has been providing educational programs and leadership seminars since 1958. Our committee supports HOBY by encouraging local high school students to become involved in this very rewarding program.
